InCites

InCites Benchmarking & Analytics, based on Web of Science data, allows users to analyse the publication output of individuals, groups and institutions.  New users will need to create an account to access InCites, unless they have already created an account for Web of Science or EndNoteWeb.

Available metrics/information

Many of the same metrics are available for all entities (e.g. author, institution, region), but not all.  Available metrics include:

  • h-index
  • total citations
  • citation impact (citations per publication)
  • scholarly output
  • output by research area
  • collaborating institutions
  • co-authors
  • output by author position
  • number of citing countries/regions
  • outputs in top citation percentiles
  • outputs in top journal percentiles and quartiles
  • output by citation topic
  • Category Normalized Citation Impact
  • Journal Normalized Citation Impact
  • output and metrics by collaboration type e.g. international, national or institutional
  • number and percentage of documents cited
  • Highly Cited Papers
  • Hot Papers
  • citations from patents
  • open access indicators
