SciVal a research analytics tool, based on Scopus data, allows users to analyse the published research output of researchers, groups of researchers, institutions and sets of publications. New users will need to create an account to access SciVal. However, if you have an account with any Elsevier product, including Scopus, Science Direct or Engineering Village, you'll be able to use those credentials to login.
Available metrics/information
Many of the same metrics are available for all entities (e.g. author, institution, region), but not all. Available metrics include:
- h-index
- h5-index
- total citations
- scholarly output
- output by subject area
- collaborating institutions
- co-authors
- number of citing patents
- number of outputs cited in patents
- output by author position
- number of citing countries/regions
- outputs in top citation percentiles
- outputs in top journal percentiles (D1 and Q1)
- output by Topic or Topic Cluster
- Field-Weighted Citation Impact
- output and metrics by collaboration type e.g. international, national or institutional
