Databases typically searched by advanced scholars
Advanced scholars researching a topic in science and technology or a cross-disciplinary / trans-disciplinary topic will typically search both Scopus and Web of Science platforms. These two rival search tools index very large datasets of academic literature. Having searched both databases expect to discover some duplicate results.
Engineering researchers will often fine-tune their search scope by searching the Engineering Village platform, which hosts the Compendex database. Search Compendex for all engineering topics.
