AURIN provides thousands of data sets, mapped and integrated from multiple sources, and the analytical tools to interrogate this data so that researchers, governments and industry can model and test ideas for the sustainable development and wellbeing of our cities. It is all spatially enabled and research ready—Researchers can map and visualise the Density, Diversity and Design of different scenarios.

Data61 by CSIRO & partners develop tools, platforms and models for big data analytics, spatial-temporal analytics, text analytics and private data analytics. Via projects with industry and university partners, they transform this data into insights.
LandScan uses an innovative approach with Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing. At approximately 1 km resolution (30" X 30"), it is the finest resolution global population distribution data available and represents an ambient population (average over 24 hours).
