Digital Online Maps

There are a number of freely available online maps you can use for finding different types of geographical information. Use the menu on the left to explore by geographic area or topic of interest.

They can be grouped into three main types: 

  1. Topographic maps – show information about the shape of the land and can be used to obtain precise measurements of distance, direction, area and quantity. 

  1. Aerial Photography and Satellite images – use in natural resource management, vegetation mapping, geological applications as well as urban, regional and property planning 

  1. Cadastral maps – land boundary maps
