QUT Library provides access to a range of policy databases containing a range of resources from research centres, think tanks, government and non-government organisations.

Overton

Overton provides access to content from government agencies, Think Tanks and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). Types of documents include:

  • Government documents
  • White papers
  • Hearing transcripts
  • Committee reports
  • Position Statements
  • Policy briefs
  • Educational materials
  • Clinical guidelines
  • Blog posts (LSE Impact blogs)

You can search Overton by Policy documents, People and Scholarly Documents (i.e., articles).

Policy Commons

Policy Commons collects content from multiple sources across many disciplines. The content is vetted by the organisations that produce it and includes "...pages of books, articles, working papers, reports, policy briefs, data sets, tables, charts, media, case studies, and statistical publications provide current, vetted, hard statistical and factual content." (https://coherentdigital.net/policycommons).

If you are looking for a researcher, use variations of their name (e.g. "steven smith" OR "smith, steven") to broaden your search.

Note: not all results will be from or relating to policy documents and may not be related to the researcher (especially if they have a relatively common name). Check the result list for accuracy

Analysis and Policy Observatory (APO)

Analysis and Policy Observatory (via Informit) offers an extensive collection which reinforces quality search results across articles, grey literature, reports, video, digital, infographics and guides available within Informit. Sharing the latest in policy knowledge and evidence, this database supports enhanced learning, collaboration and contribution.
