Key elements of a treaty citation

The key elements of a treaty citation are:

  • Treaty Title
  • Parties' Names (NB: this element is not required for multilateral treaties with more than three signatories)
  • Date Opened for Signature or Signed
  • Treaty Series
  • Date of Entry into Force 
  • Pinpoint
