New EBSCOhost search coming soon

When is QUT moving to the new EBSCOhost search?

The new search will go live on 1 July 2025 (expected to change over mid-morning).

Will the current EBSCOhost search still be available?

No. Once the new search is available on 1 July 2025, you will no longer be able to use the existing EBSCOhost search.  All links to the existing search will automatically redirect to the new search.

Can I access the new EBSCOhost search now?

Yes. You can now preview the new EBSCOhost search. There is also a link in the banner of the current EBSCOhost search

Will all my saved data be migrated to the new search?

No. Only some of your saved data will be available in the new EBSCOhost.

  • My Folder - only saved articles, ebooks, images, videos, checkouts, holds and saved searches will be available after you login to the new interface. See what is being automatically moved for further details.

  • My Custom Folders - this data is not being migrated, however you will have view only access to these folders until the end of 2025 via the Access your Classic Folder link in the new interface.  You can then recreate any Custom Folder information using the new EBSCOhost search using Project functionality.  Alternatively as a workaround you can move your Custom Folder data to your My Folder before July so it will automatically be migrated to the new search.

  • Search and Journal email alerts - you will need to recreate these in the new interface.  Existing alerts will continue to run for a short period. Best practice will be to recreate your alerts in the new interface and delete the alerts on the legacy interface to avoid duplicate emails. You can delete old alerts via the Access your Classic Folder link in the new interface.
