NCSU Institute for Nonprofits’ Site for Research on Membership Associations

The Institute for Nonprofits at North Carolina State University and the ASAE Foundation have partnered up to provide access to datasets concerning nonprofit membership associations. The current datasets available for use include:

  • Decision to Join
  • Decision to Learn
  • Decision to Give
  • Compensation (2006, 2008, 2010)
  • Policies and Procedures
  • From 990 data (2008)
  • Boards and Strategic Decision Making

The mission of the Institute and ASAE is to promote academic scholarship, collaboration, and promote knowledge in the nonprofit membership association arena. To that end, the datasets are available to academic professors, researchers, and graduate students. The datasets are completely free and require only a brief registration process. The Institute and ASAE also provide several funding opportunities such as grants, travel awards, and a best publication award to those interested in using the datasets in their research.
