Time Required

How long will it take?

The time required will depend on the type of review and the research question.

A narrative literature review can be done by one person in a shorter time frame than a systematic review.

Systematic reviews are time-consuming and require a small team.

Before you decide to perform a systematic review, make sure you have the time.

A note on Systemic Reviews

One person cannot take on a systematic review by themselves. The gold standard for a Systematic Review team comprises at least three people.

  • Project lead
  • At least two reviewers, three is better (to break ties)
  • A statistician (optional)
  • A librarian (optional but recommended)
