How to use the Library

Group study rooms

There are silent AND collaborative work zones in the library.  You can also book meeting rooms and media rooms.

Welcome to QUT Library

Google Scholar

When you search off campus, remember to set Google Scholar preferences to recognise QUT Library holdings.  You'll then be linked to QUT fulltext holdings. Very handy!  Here's how, in a minute.

Search the catalogue

Quick:  Use any keywords or beginning title words to search, locate and access books, ebooks, DVD's and other library resources.

Smart:  Once you have found a highly relevant item, use the assigned subject terms (or 'tags') to locate similar items. You can also browse subject lists. For example, by navigating from 'Ethnology' to 'Ethnology Methodology Evaluation

Hint:  For even greater flexibility, use the drop-down menus in Advanced Search, enter the subject, and then add keywords to other search boxes to refine your search.

Locating a book on the shelf

Shelf location numbers for books are listed in the catalogue ('Call No') and on the spine of a book. Watch a video and do a quick call number sorting exercise on Study Smart.
