Accessing information & paywalls

When you are searching with a database or Google Scholar, you may find results with no full text available. You may be linked to a page asking you to pay to access the information, or there might be a title, abstract, and details, but no copy of the actual paper!

You can try:

Downloading the LibKey Nomad browser extension, that uses your QUT Library details to add PDF links: https://www.library.qut.edu.au/search/getstarted/web/libkeynomad/

Still can't find it? Don't pay!

If the item is something the Library doesn't subscribe to or own, you can request a copy free of charge. We will do our best to source a copy of the item you need, and you can use this service to request both online and hardcopy items.

Live close to another university?

QUT students can apply for free borrowing membership of other university libraries which are part of the ULANZ scheme (Links to an external site) Contact the institution's library to find out how to apply for membership.
