D1 Journals (top 10%)

Why search for D1 journals?

When applying for Article Processing Charges support, the QUT criteria includes that the journal must be a D1 journal.

"7. The journal must have a current decile ranking of D1 in Scimago or Journal Citation Reports

(see Guideline for determining D1 status (PDF, 233KB), Locating D1 journals using Scimago (MediaHub video, 2min) and Locating D1 journals using Journal Citation Reports (JCR) (MediaHub video, 2min))"

Journals may have more than one subject category.  As long as the journal reaches D1 in one of them, it satisfies the criteria of being a D1 journal.

For this reason, if the journal you are interested in is not in the D1 list for Education, it is still worth checking its ranking in Scimago and Journal Citation Reports.

D1 journals in Higher Education Research

D1, or decile 1 journals, are those ranked in the top 10% by the Scimago Journal and Country Rank database (SJR)  OR Journal Citation Reports (JCR) for that discipline.
