Acknowledgement of Country Song
We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land we walk and live on
As strong Aboriginal women we endorse this deadly song, written by Leah Licence and music by Mary Fletcher. Leah has done a fantastic job of creating this song in collaboration with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. As Acknowledgement of Country’s are a symbolic act of reconciliation, we always appreciate when our non-Indigenous sisters and brothers recognise the importance of acknowledging country. This song is a fantastic demonstration of acknowledgement.

QUT acknowledges the Turrbal and Yugara as the First Nations owners of the lands where QUT now stands. We pay respect to their Elders, lores, customs and creation spirits. We recognise that these lands have always been places of teaching, research and learning. QUT acknowledges the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people play within the QUT community.
